Focus on the fabric. Do not worry so much about the brand. Feel the fabric. Feel the quality.

Have a list of ideas and inspiration in hand before you head to the thrift store, especially if you are easily overwhelmed.

Have an open mind. Go with the flow. Be like water.

Look at the men’s and kids section. I find blouses, trousers, etc. in men’s, also fantastic cargo pants. Ive found cool t shirts and sweatshirts in the boys section.

This is blatantly obvious, but it is crucial to look for stains and care instructions. Nothing kills my post thrift bliss more than coming home with an item and seeing ‘Dry Clean Only’ on the tag.

Slow down and enjoy. Quietly moving through the racks can be meditative.
